We have many requests to convert machines to CNC controlled gear gashers. Typically there are two cases:
Existing gear hobber. Convention gear hobbers have a hobbing head attached to a saddle on a movable column. This saddle can move up and don and in and out. The gear is mounted on a rotary table. Mechanical change gears are combined with gears and shafts to set the gear pitch and size. In this case we replace the hobbing head with a new gashing head and supply separate servo motors and CNC system to drive each of the axes.
Conversion of HBM. Many companies have a spare HBM which can used as the basis for re-engineering as a gear gasher. In this case we remove the spindle headstock and replace this with a new gear gashing head and tilt mechanism. A new precision CNC rotary table is provided. The CNC controlled axes are then the vertical, infeed and rotary axes plus the gashing head spindle motor.
Currently we have two new Gear Gashing Heads under development, a 50Kw head and a 100 KW head. Both are water cooled and have the option of tilting mechanism for machines which do not have one.
For gear cutting applications we offer our Large Rotary Tables in diameters from 3 to 6m and with load capacities from 30 to 100 tonnes. Each table has a center bore of 0.6m for easy mounting of pinions. The tables are driven by backlash free torque motors and have a positioning accuracy of 0.0002 deg. The tables are
For all of our CNC gear projects we use the Siemens Sinumerik 840D CNC system together with Simodrive AC servo drives. We have developed user friendly operator screens for easy set up without any CNC programming.
